Nutrition Beliefs

I believe in

Our body has an amazing healing ability when given what it needs to thrive.

Food and nutrients have healing power.

Fostering a healthy relationship with food.

Symptoms are distress signals from your body, and are often linked to your diet and lifestyle.

Each person is biochemically different and what works for one may not work for another.

Good nutrition is more than the right vitamins, minerals, protein, fat and carbohydrates.

Eating delicious food.

I do not believe in

Fad diets.

Dieting.

Counting calories.

Measuring food portions.

Using prescription medications to mask symptoms.

Eating food you do not enjoy.

My Story

I have first hand experience of cancer’s and dementia’s devastation, and my training as an integrative nutritionist was invaluable.

My husband and best friend was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He had incredible strength, courage, hope and will-power. We chose an integrative approach, strengthening his body and immune system while using targeted therapies. I was his support, disease researcher, doctor questioner, coach and caregiver. I learned that the only guarantee we have is the now, and the importance of good nutrition, effective stress management, love, forgiveness and gratitude.

I take care of my mom, who has vascular dementia. She eats healthy, exercises daily and takes targeted supplements. Although her neurologist is pleased that the dementia is progressing slowly, I know that this relentless disease steals a little of her each day. I am grateful for the present, her good days, and the time that I am able to spend with her.

The ravages of these diseases on the patient and the family, and the inability of modern medicine to offer any viable solution taught me the importance of prevention and optimal nutrition.  Health is the most precious thing we own.
